For the past few months Yardie Nadine has been instrumental in getting BIMA Thirstdays up and running in Scotland and as we’d just moved into shiny new offices it seemed like the perfect opportunity to road-test it as a party pad too!
BIMA is the British Interactive Media Association and is an organisation that promote the British Digital Industry and #BIMAThirstdays are an informal monthly social event for digital professionals that take place in digital hubs around the UK.
Our very good friends at Harviestoun Brewery kindly offered to sponsor our new bar (designed and built by Yardie Andrew) and furnished us with a couple of casks of their finest craft beers (Schiehallion & Wild Hop IPA) and they also allowed us to have our very own ‘Ale of Yard’ limited edition Red IPA (with custom labels designed by Yardie Ben). Not too shabby a start!
Not only did we have an awful lot of beer but we had other sponsorship in the form of cake – lots of cake! Courtesy of Mrs C’s Cakes (Yardie Paolo’s good lady) and the use of TweetwallPro for the evening for our social sharing.
As if that wasn’t enough we quite literally decided to go the whole hog and ordered in some mouth wateringly delicious hog roast with all the trimmings from Oink to help soak up the beer!
To say that it was a great night is pretty pointless, who wouldn’t with all that going on but it was great fun and as always some great new connections were made! Some folk were having so much fun that they continued on well into the early hours! (bet they were glad of the pig rolls).
A massive thank you to everyone who contributed and to all those who came and made our 1st official event in no. 10 such a brilliant evening! To view all the photos from the evening visit our Facebook page.
