Meet the Yardies – Jac & Harry

Last month we met Jeff & Rhys and this month we’ve got another two Yardies to get to know. We have Jac, our Data Services Manager based in Cardiff, and Harry Maule, our Technical SEO Executive from Edinburgh, answer a few questions.

Harry or if you’re feeling adventurous – Osman (my Turkish name).

How long have you worked at Yard?

What office are you based in?

Edinburgh

What team are you in?

The technical team.

Describe what your typical day looks like from start to finish.

Typically, I start the day off with one or two cups of coffee to get me going. At Yard my tasks change every day, ranging from chasing prospective link partners and writing supporting copy, through to sifting through mountains of data in Excel.

What projects are you working on at the moment?

Sage UK

What’s the best thing about your job?

The camaraderie amongst staff and opportunity to learn more about SEO are both great.

What’s the biggest challenge you face in your job?

I find writing quite difficult. That and tolerating Doug’s early morning mood swings.

If you could take a fully funded year off- what would you do and where would you go?

Next on the list is Latin America since I haven’t been to that part of the world yet. I’d love to travel around the whole continent drinking beer, enjoying the sun and finding stories to be involved in.

When I’m not at work, I…

I like being productive, so I always try to keep myself occupied. I’m sporty and I always try to fit in a game of football, along with going to the boxing gym. I enjoy socialising and try to find any excuse to spend time with friends and family.
