On the evening of Friday 18th September 2015 the Yard team attended the inaugural Cardiff Business Awards which were held at City Hall in Cardiff. Shortlisted in two of the thirteen award categories, the Technology and Innovation Award and the Creative and Digital Industries Award, on the night we were announced as the overall winner in the Creative and Digital category.

Backed by organisations including Natwest, City of Cardiff Council, University of South Wales and Cardiff University, the Cardiff Business Awards were set up to celebrate the successes of businesses and entrepreneurs based in the Welsh capital.

The Creative and Digital Industries Award sponsored by the University of South Wales was set up to recognise the businesses in Cardiff operating in the highly important creative and digital sectors, and the judges were looking primarily for creative and digital companies that have achieved growth and strong financial performance through innovation, exceptional customer experience and a focus on future business success.

Our co-founders and directors Stephan Briggs and Paul Newbury were thrilled to win the award and commented:

“At Yard we are very proud of our Cardiff roots and of being part of the city’s thriving digital community so to be recognised by the judges for our work in this sector is incredible. To win the inaugural Creative and Digital Business award is a significant achievement for us and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our staff for their outstanding contribution to the continued success of the business”

Cardiff Business Awards founder Liz Brookes of Grapevine Event Management said:

“There are a huge amount of individuals and organisations that are doing inspirational work and contributing to Cardiff’s thriving economic scene. We set up the awards to really shine a light on these businesses and celebrate Cardiff as a great place to do business. It was fantastic to be able to recognise and publicly reward the very deserving winners, and we look forward to seeing their businesses grow and develop.”
