4th October 2012 by Amanda Bathory | News & Events

On Friday 28th September, Yard Digital Cardiff hosted a coffee morning to raise awareness and money for Macmillan Cancer Care.

Cardiff Coffee and Cake for Cancer Support

Cakes Galore

We had a table full of delicious treats – jam tarts, Tara-Ann-Brownies, snowballs, lemon sponge, chocolate muffins and cherry bakewells (to name just a few) – and several visitors to share them with. Thank-you to all who shared the morning with us and were generous enough to donate; between friends and family, Yardies, the team from Legal and General and guests from Yolk Recruitment, we raised £274.62.

Guests donated the cost of a cake, a cup of coffee and bought a ticket to play the raffle of wondrous prizes, which included: bath lotions and potions, red wine, white wine and more exotic gifts like sweet trees made of Oreos and sherbet UFOs.

Where will all the donations go?

£278 can keep a Macmillan information and support centre stocked for a month, with all the resources it needs to support people affected by cancer. We were really very pleased indeed to be able to donate enough to support this worthy cause.

If you would like to try any of the cake recipes for yourself you can tweet us, but more likely you’ll be interested in the fantastic work carried out by Macmillan Cancer Care- all information about the big coffee morning and beyond can be found at https://www.macmillan.org.uk
