Yard on the digital industry in 2017

Happy New Year!

With 2017 officially here and the whole year stretching ahead of us, we thought it would be a good time to share some of the interesting results we got when we asked guests of our sponsored BIMA Thirstday event in December what they anticipated being THE key thing affecting all things digital this year.

The answers were pretty much split into two main groups – either something specific to the digital industry, or something happening in the wider workplace or indeed the wider world that would, in turn, affect what will be happening in digital. Here are some of our favourite responses:

  • Ad blocking
  • Chatbots
  • Brands being genuine
  • Native advertising
  • Brexit
  • Trump (we’re sensing a theme here)
  • Out of home
  • Internet of things
  • AI
  • Mobile, over desktop
  • Hiring talented young creatives

Do you agree? Disagree? Is there something glaringly obvious missing from our list? Tweet us @YardDigital and let us know and we’ll add it in.
